Stopovers
Indigenous program
Musique Nomade’s musical stopovers are at the heart of the organization’s mission and mark the beginning of a full cycle of artistic support. Usually held in Indigenous communities, these creative workshops are exceptionally taking place in Montréal this time, while maintaining their core purpose: to offer Indigenous artists professional guidance and music production services in a creative and supportive environment.
Our team, made up of a music producer, a videographer, and a project manager, sets up a fully equipped recording studio to provide an immersive and collaborative experience in an urban setting. Each participating artist has the opportunity to record a song and produce a professional video, whether it’s a presentation video, a music video, or a live session.
These stopovers provide a dedicated space for artistic creation and exploration, while also helping to promote the recorded works through distribution on various platforms. In addition to being featured on a collective album entitled On the Road, the artists also receive their own profile on the Nikamowin platform, a showcase that allows them to share their talent with a wider audience.
The INDex was created to support First Nations, Inuit and Métis in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal in finding relevant and up-to-date information on services that were created specifically for them. Our goal is to promote cultural safety and community connectedness.
If you are an Indigenous person living, moving to or visiting Tiohtià:ke, the INDex can support you in your steps!
