Addictions Program
Indigenous program
Our Addictions Worker is responsible for providing addictions counselling, education, support, and referrals, as well as for promoting healthy lifestyles and healthy choices. The Addictions Program works with women at the Native Women’s Shelter of Montreal and also First Nations and Inuit women and men in the community who want support around their substance use. People can access services individually or by attending a group offered by the program. People can self-refer.
We offer:
Drug and alcohol counselling and support
Education and outreach
Intake, assessment, and treatment planning
Therapeutic activities and workshops
Medicine wheel and twelve-step program based support
Programming in conjunction with community health resources
Treatment referrals
Holistic and harm reduction based approaches

The INDex was created to support First Nations, Inuit and Métis in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal in finding relevant and up-to-date information on services that were created specifically for them. Our goal is to promote cultural safety and community connectedness.
