Ambassadors

Indigenous program

Indigenous organization

Mikana’s Ambassadors program aims to bring together and equip Indigenous Youth aged between 18 and 35 who wish to become actively involved in building bridges between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people.

The circle of support values each person’s experience. Welcoming complex experiences related to the role of awareness-raising, opening a dialogue about possible solutions and reinforcing communication skills are all ways of supporting the Ambassadors’ commitment to educating groups of people.

Skills developed:

  • Strengthen your network of people who share a common history
  • Improve public speaking skills and feel able to share ideas
  • Strengthen your self-esteem by feeling valued for affirming your personal experience and knowledge of the realities experienced by aboriginal nations and communities.
  • Feel that you have influence or impact in bringing about change in society
  • Deepen your knowledge of various subjects (history, sociology, communication, use of virtual tools, etc.)
  • Develop leadership skills
