Indigenous program
An Inuit beneficiary card (N Number) may be required to access this program.
The project aims to prevent and reduce homelessness among at-risk Inuit communities, with a focus on men. It seeks to stabilize the lives of homeless or at-risk Inuit individuals by providing culturally secure health and wellness programs, offering support to alleviate food insecurity, and facilitating home transitions. Activities include monthly provision of food baskets and hygiene supplies, distribution of bus tickets, providing moving support, and collaborating with partner organizations.
- This program is limited to one person per household and serves individuals who are aged 18 or over.
- Deliveries are available for Elders and people with reduced mobility.
- Intervention workers are present to provide listening, referrals and support.
- There is a children entertainment section in our offices, as this is a kid friendly space.
- Computers are available for participants on the site.
The INDex was created to support First Nations, Inuit and Métis in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal in finding relevant and up-to-date information on services that were created specifically for them. Our goal is to promote cultural safety and community connectedness.
If you are an Indigenous person living, moving to or visiting Tiohtià:ke, the INDex can support you in your steps!
