Indigenous program
An Inuit beneficiary card (N Number) may be required to access this program.
Ivirtivik is an employment preparation project that welcomes Inuit participants to the Greater Montreal Area, with the aim of helping them enter the job market or return to school. Inuit and non-Indigenous employment professionals help participants develop their personal and professional skills through courses and activities, exploratory visits and individual consultations. Services are offered free of charge to participants in English, French and Inuktitut. The program lasts an average of six months, with 30 hours per week.
Participants receive an allowance for participation and transportation. The team also works closely with community resources to meet the basic needs of Inuit job-seekers.

Skills development workshops are related to job market skills such as: communicating effectively, staying persistent in achieving goals, making a good impression in interviews, and so on.
By taking part in the program, participants will also have access to the following services:
- Computers, Wi-Fi, telephone and fax
- Financial support
- Support with transportation
- Cultural activities
- Traditional food, on occasions
- Support with Inuit beneficiary cards and other ID cards
- Elder’s support
- Access to a support group
- Listening and referrals
