Victim Services Program
Indigenous program
The Justice Center’s Victim Services Coordinator can assist you with your needs if you’ve been in a harmful situation. You don’t have to be in the court process as a victim to receive services. Services include one-on-one support, safety plans, referrals, access to Elder Services, accompaniments and support going through the court system. Programming is also available for anyone who seeks healing through cultural and traditional measures, such as sharing circles, land-based activities and healing retreats.
Participants can also get help with the following:
- Listening, referrals and well-being follow up
- Accompaniments (to health services, to the police station, etc.)
- Cultural workshops and activities
- Elder’s support and traditional care
- Transportation
These services are intended for Indigenous peoples
The INDex was created to support First Nations, Inuit and Métis in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal in finding relevant and up-to-date information on services that were created specifically for them. Our goal is to promote cultural safety and community connectedness.
If you are an Indigenous person living, moving to or visiting Tiohtià:ke, the INDex can support you in your steps!
