The NWSM is hiring for a Healing Retreat Coordinator (Seasonal)
Position: Healing Retreat Coordinator
Retreat Dates: July 12–17, 2026
Location: Native Women’s Shelter of Montreal
Salary & Compensation:
- 1,250$ (includes up to 50 hours of prep work)
- Reimbursement for gas mileage with log
- Additional honorarium for retreat week (TBD)
Role Overview:
The Healing Retreat Coordinator will plan and run a culturally appropriate 5-day retreat for women and children. Responsibilities include liaising with the Healing Retreat Committee, recruiting facilitators, coordinating activities, ensuring participants’ well-being, and reporting to the Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation: Recruit Elders/facilitators, organize materials, schedule Shelter visits, coordinate dietary needs, plan children’s programming, create surveys, attend bi-weekly meetings, and remain within budget.
- During Retreat: Welcome participants, facilitate activities and daily meetings, support clients’ engagement, ensure safety, coordinate meals and chores, and oversee final survey completion.
- Post-Retreat: Submit a final report within one week.
Requirements:
- CPR training (cost covered if needed)
- Ability to coordinate with multiple staff and volunteers
