Income Taxes for Artists with Adam Chano

25 February 2026
Training and education

Join us on Wednesday February 25 at 6 pm at daphne for an evening with Adam Chano, Director of Tally Accounting, who will have a Q&A about taxes for artists. Aimed at self-employed creatives, this informal session will cover how to report income, deduct business expenses, and file a T2125 Statement of Business Activities with a T1 return. Chano will explain key topics such as CPP contributions, GST/HST rebates, and the tax treatment of grants versus prizes, as well as considerations for employed artists. With practical guidance and clear examples, he will help artists navigate CRA requirements with confidence. Adam can answer questions in both languages but will present in english.

This session is part of the series “Everything you always wanted to know about __________, But were afraid to ask”, an opportunity to learn more about a variety of topics from a group of knowledgeable speakers. The topics range from genealogy, beads, hide tanning and income taxes for artists. The invited speakers will share their knowledge during these sessions and you get an opportunity to ask questions. Join us online or at daphne. You will receive the link the day before – contact info@daphne.art if you have not received a link by February 25th.
