Service call – Podcast producer / audio editor

Context

Wikimedia Canada wishes to produce a six-episode podcast series on misinformation among youth in Indigenous communities. The audio recordings have already been completed and include, for each episode, contributions from three participants, including youth from the Atikamekw community of Manawan.

Job Description

The selected professional will be responsible for the production and audio editing of the podcast series.

More specifically, the scope of work includes:

• Listening to and analyzing the provided recordings
• Structuring the narrative of the episodes and developing scripts based on the existing content
• Audio editing of the six (6) episodes (target duration: 6 to 8 minutes each)
• Sound cleaning and processing (noise reduction, equalization, level normalization, etc.)
• Integration of sound elements (music, transitions, sound design, as needed)
• Adjustments and corrections based on feedback
• Delivery of final files ready for broadcast (formats to be specified)

Deliverables

• 6 finalized podcast episodes (6 to 8 minutes each)
• Draft versions for approval (at least one round of revisions included)
• Final professional-quality audio files

Qualifications

• Experience producing and editing podcasts or narrative audio content
• Excellent ability to structure a narrative from raw material
• Proficiency in audio editing software (e.g., Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, Reaper, etc.)
• Attention to detail and commitment to sound quality
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
