Call for Indigenous Artist – Montréal (Land Acknowledgement Artwork Commission)
We are seeking to connect with an Indigenous artist based in or connected to Tiohtià:ke / Montréal who may be interested in a commissioned artwork opportunity.
Our organization is looking to commission a meaningful and respectful piece of artwork for our Montréal-area offices. The intent is to collaborate with an Indigenous artist to create a framed piece that thoughtfully incorporates a land acknowledgement and reflects the local Indigenous context.
We are approaching this opportunity with the goal of ensuring the work is:
- Artist-led in concept and design
- Rooted in the cultures and perspectives of the lands and communities of Tiohtià:ke
- Created through a respectful and collaborative process
We welcome interest from First Nations, Inuit, and Métis artists working in visual art forms (e.g., painting, illustration, mixed media, or other appropriate formats).
Artists would be compensated for their work, and we are open to discussing scope, timeline, and approach collaboratively.
If you are interested, or know an artist who may be a good fit, we would be grateful to connect and continue the conversation.
