About the Organization

The Open Door Montreal is a community-based organization located in the Milton Parc neighborhood that supports people experiencing homelessness. We offer essential services (shelter, meals, psychosocial support, referrals, etc.) in a safe, inclusive environment designed to reduce barriers to access. Our services include a Supported Housing Program (SRA) as well as a community outreach team composed of community workers and mediators.

Our approach is centered on participants’ needs and is grounded in harm reduction, respect, cultural safety, and trauma-informed practice. We prioritize welcoming members of Indigenous communities and work in collaboration with various partners to promote well-being, self-determination, and social inclusion.

The SRA program supports Indigenous people in accessing and maintaining housing in the private rental market.
