Aboriginal Territories in Cyberspace (AbTeC) is seeking a Technical Operations Manager that will provide technical leadership within an Indigenous‑led research‑creation studio‑lab, where technology supports artistic practice, community‑engaged research, and knowledge creation as much as operational needs. The role stewards infrastructure, systems, and data practices in ways that respect Indigenous values, creative workflows, and data sovereignty, ensuring that technology remains flexible, ethical, and responsive to diverse research and artistic processes. Working across research, creative, and administrative teams, the Technical Operations Manager coordinates technical staff, advises on tools and infrastructure, and leads major technical initiatives in close collaboration with institutional partners. Unlike a conventional IT management role, this position emphasizes relational, culturally aware, and context‑specific technical leadership—ensuring that systems, data, and digital assets are governed in ways that support Indigenous research priorities, creative experimentation, and long‑term sustainability.
