Mamo/Mamu – Indigenous Narrative and Digital Sovereignty
Who tells the stories? Who decides? And who controls narratives and knowledge in the digital space?
At a time when artificial intelligence is transforming the ways we create, share, and reuse content and knowledge, how can First Nations harness digital tools to tell their own stories and make their voices heard?
As part of Connecte, the Mamo/Mamu seminar offers an afternoon of reflection dedicated to Indigenous narrative and digital sovereignty.
This event will explore, in particular, the connections between digital creation, cultural transmission, artificial intelligence, and digital sovereignty, while raising key questions about the circulation of stories and knowledge in the digital space.
If you are or know any Indigenous leaders (ages 18–35) who:
1) want to better understand digital and artificial intelligence issues, contribute to discussions within their community, and make their voices heard;
2) are students, researchers, entrepreneurs, artists, creators, and members of organizations;
3) are available to attend in person and take part in the Connecte activities from October 13 to 16 in Montreal.
Invite them to participate in the event by signing up for Printemps numérique’s Indigenous Ambassadors Program.
