DESCRIPTION

In support of the General Management team, the Project Manager is responsible for planning and implementing
of Musique Nomade (MN) stopovers, as well as participating in their promotion. By
The Project Manager also contributes to MN’s outreach by working closely with the communities
communities, collaborators and partner organizations. In the context of working in
community, this position is dedicated to a First Nations, Inuit or Métis professional,
Inuit or Métis.

Main responsibilities :

  • Put into action the strategic plan for stopovers and plan the annual calendar;
  • Plan and coordinate stopovers in aboriginal communities;
  • Supervise and coordinate field teams (local coordinator, director and cinematographer);
  • Ensure administrative management (invoicing, expense accounts, legal documents, budget, directory);
  • Post-production and promotion of stopover material;
  • Work on the development of artistic residencies;
  • Organize training and development activities for artists;
  • Communicate, support and advise artists throughout the year, and direct them to the right resources;
  • Develop the organization’s networking, ensure its representation in aboriginal networks and act as spokesperson for the organization’s intervention/mediation component;
  • Collaborate on communications concerning workshops in and outside communities, and Indigenous partnerships;
  • Collaborate in the search for artistic and financial partnerships.

Skills and aptitudes required :

  • Minimum of a college diploma (DEC);
  • A minimum of 3 years’ professional experience;
  • Excellent knowledge of the Office suite;
  • Knowledge of the music industry an asset;
  • Excellent knowledge of the Aboriginal community;
  • Fluency in written and spoken French and English;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent management and planning skills;
  • Rigorous, efficient and methodical;Autonomy and initiative;
  • Adaptability to change;
  • Current driver’s license with the ability (and pleasure!) to drive to remote locations in a variety of conditions.

 

Job conditions :

  • Schedule: 5 days / week
  • Compensation: $50,000 to $55,000
  • Advantageous working conditions: vacation, group insurance
  • Workplace: 1208 Beaubien Street East, Montreal, in face-to-face mode
  • Start date: As soon as possible
