Organization: PAQ (Projets Autochtones du Québec)
Location: 169 de la Gauchetière Street East, Montréal
Schedule: Wednesday to Sunday, 3:30PM to 7:30PM

About the Organization

PAQ is an Indigenous organization that supports First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people experiencing housing insecurity in Montréal. It provides shelter, housing options, and culturally adapted services that promote well-being, healing, and reintegration.

Main Role

The Kitchen Assistant supports the kitchen team in preparing and serving nutritious, safe meals that are respectful of the cultural realities of community members.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients and assist with meal assembly
  • Clean and disinfect kitchen areas and equipment
  • Wash and store dishes and utensils
  • Receive, label, and store food and supplies
  • Strictly follow food hygiene and safety standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment at all times

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in a kitchen or food service setting (an asset)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliability, punctuality, and team spirit
  • Respectful, inclusive, and non-judgmental attitude
  • Sensitivity to issues related to homelessness, mental health, and substance use
  • Bilingual in French and English required (knowledge of an Indigenous language is an asset)
