Claim’s Helper Available- First Nation’s Child and Family Services Jordan’s Principle Settlement
The first Claims Period for the First Nations Child and Family Services and Jordan’s Principle Settlement is now open.
Claims are being accepted for the Removed Child Class and the Removed Child Family Class.
You could be a Removed Child Class Member if you were:
√ Removed from your home as a Child between April 1, 1991, and March 31, 2022, while you or your Caregiving Parent or Caregiving Grandparent were living on reserve or in the Yuon
√ Placed into care funded by Indigenous Services Canada
You could be a Removed Child Family Class Member If you are the Caregiving Parent or Caregiving Grandparent of a Removed Child Class Member. This means you
√ Must have lived with and exercised parental responsibilities over the Removed Child at the time of removal
√ Were the one from whom the Removed Child was first removed
Some people may belong to both Classes, which means they would need to submit two separate Claim Forms.
