PAQ Mission
PAQ is an Indigenous organization that supports First Nations, Inuit and Métis people facing housing
insecurity in Tio’tià:ke / Montreal. Using a culturally appropriate approach based on empowerment
and harm reduction, we provide housing options, housing, and services that promote well-being and
healing, and strengthen community. We work in partnership with others to promote the health and
housing rights of urban Indigenous peoples.
Job Purpose
As a part of the PAQ team, you will be joining a group of individuals who are committed to helping
change the lives of Indigenous men and women in Montreal. Working closely with community
members to meet their long-term health goals, you will have the opportunity to see the life changing
benefits of your work on a daily basis. Working with dedication to PAQ’s mission, you will have access
to the support of team members as well as training in the areas of intervention, suicide prevention,
trauma informed approaches, First Aid and Indigenous cultural knowledge.
Duties and Responsibilities
The person in this role works in close collaboration with the Community Health Coordinator and in-
hospital liaison officer at all the hospitals. To support First Nations, Métis and Inuit women and men
experiencing homelessness or at risk to help them access holistic and culturally adapted physical and
psychological health services. The role will require assisting the Community Health Coordinator, the
Community Health Support Worker and in-hospital liaison officer.
Other Requirements:
This is an on-site position with workstation being PAQ 1 in downtown Montréal with constant
displacement in various Montreal hospitals where Indigenous patients are referred to.
This is a 35-hour position with shifts being primarily over week days
Driver’s license is an asset.
Additional details:
This is a full time, permanent, unionized position
35 hours per week, $28.98/hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday from 1pm to 7pm
Office located at 169 de la Gauchetière E, Montréal, QC, H2X 1P7
You will also be asked to go to different Hospitals and clinic facilities on the Island (ex: CHUM, Glen Hospital, General Hospital, and more).
