Star Wars is coming back to the big screen — in Anishinaabemowin (Ojibwe)!
Join Mikana and Concordia University at Cinema du Musee* on Saturday, October 4th at 7PM for a one-of-a-kind community screening bringing together pop culture and language revitalization in a powerful way.
The screening of this 1977 classic (dubbed in Anishinaabemowin, with subtitles in English) will be preceded by an interactive panel discussion** on Indigenous language preservation.
In addition, a few members of the Forteresse Impériale Garrison (501st Legion) will be present in costume in the cinema lobby starting at 6PM to take photos with the audience and add an immersive touch to the evening!
This screening is free – but spots are limited. A number of tickets are reserved for Indigenous individuals and organizations.

Cosplays and lightsabers are welcome
Doors open and cosplayers on site: 6PM
