Senior Indigenous Program Advisor

The Canadian Red Cross is looking for a consultant to develop and implement a strategy and programs in collaboration with Indigenous communities in Quebec.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Provides strategic expertise to management.
• Contributes to the development and deployment of the Indigenous strategy in Quebec.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates programs adapted to cultural realities.
• Ensures community engagement that respects the needs and aspirations of communities.
• Maintains strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Produces monitoring tools, reports, and recommendations to improve practices.
• May be called upon for emergency interventions in Indigenous communities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5 to 8 years of experience in an advisory role with Indigenous communities.
• In-depth knowledge of Indigenous realities, networks, and issues in Quebec.
• Experience in community engagement, program development, and evaluation.
• Bilingualism in French/English (Indigenous language: an asset).
• Ability to work in complex and sometimes emotionally difficult contexts.
• Availability for frequent travel within Quebec.

Conditions

• Hybrid mode with regular travel.
