Shelter Worker
Position: Permanent, part-time
Schedule: Friday to Sunday, 8:00 AM – 4:15 PM
Location: PAQ2 – 2060 Saint-Dominique Street, Montreal
About PAQ:
PAQ is an Indigenous organization in Montreal supporting First Nations, Inuit, and Métis individuals experiencing housing insecurity. Their approach is culturally grounded, empowering, and harm-reduction focused, promoting well-being, healing, and social justice for urban Indigenous communities.
Role:
The Shelter Worker provides daily support to residents, fosters community life, ensures the safety and cleanliness of the shelter, responds to crises, maintains required records, and actively participates in team meetings and trainings.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 months experience in intervention, social work, or related helping fields
- Experience with Indigenous communities and/or people experiencing homelessness, substance use challenges, or mental health issues
- Functional bilingualism in English and French (an Indigenous language is an asset)
- Empathy, teamwork, initiative, professionalism, and reliability
- First aid certification is an asset
