Status: On-call (immediate start)
Schedule: Rotating 7-hour shifts (5:30AM–12:30PM, 10:30AM–5:30PM, 5:30PM–12:30AM), 7 days a week, including weekends as needed
Salary: $25.38/hour
Job Description
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Shuttle Support Worker ensures the safety and smooth operation of shuttle services. In collaboration with the driver and external partners, the worker welcomes, informs, and guides Indigenous clients experiencing homelessness in Montreal, connecting them to available resources across the island. The role also includes registering users and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the shuttle vehicle.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and orient shuttle users
- Build trust and supportive relationships with clients
- Ensure safety on board and assist the driver during trips
- Connect clients to available resources and services
- Register shuttle users
- Maintain the cleanliness and sanitary condition of the shuttle
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in intervention, social work, or a related helping field
- Strong interest in the history and realities of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples
- Commitment to social justice and reconciliation
- Experience working with people experiencing homelessness, addiction, or mental health challenges (asset)
- Bilingual in French and English required; Indigenous language knowledge is an asset
- Empathy, integrity, initiative, and professionalism
- First aid certification (asset)
