Streetworker with the Indigenous homeless community

Plein Milieu is seeking a street worker to support Indigenous people experiencing homelessness in the Plateau Mont-Royal area. The role focuses on building trusting relationships through regular street presence, harm reduction, prevention (substance use, sexual health, violence), and support with basic needs, housing, health, and referrals to culturally adapted services.

The position requires strong knowledge of the impacts of colonization and intergenerational trauma on First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities, as well as experience or lived experience in community-based intervention. Plein Milieu prioritizes autonomy, empowerment, confidentiality, and harm reduction in its practice.

Conditions: 35 hours/week (day, evening, occasional weekends), unionized position, hourly wage $26.68–$28.18, benefits, supervision, training, and strong organizational support.
