The 2025 Experienceship Applications Are Now Open!

31 March 2025
Paid opportunity

We, the Tahatikonhsontóntie’ Québec Network Environment for Indigenous Health Research (QcNEIHR), are thrilled to announce that our 2025 Experienceship competition is now open! These Experienceships were designed to encourage the transmission of traditional knowledge by funding Indigenous mentors and mentees who wish to learn and apply this knowledge together and share it with future generations.

Applicants may propose any project related to health and well-being in the broadest sense of the term, including social, emotional, mental, environmental, community, physical, and spiritual health. The Experienceships are available to Indigenous people living in both rural and urban communities. This award is unique in that the recipients do not need to be affiliated with an academic institution.

For the purposes of the Experienceship, we define a mentor as a knowledge holder who wishes to teach, support and train someone who wants to learn their skills. Mentor(s) will receive a total of $7,500 to which an additional $2,500 may be added.

A mentee is defined as a person of 16 years of age or older who is interested in having a hands-on experience and learning traditional practices from a knowledge holder. The mentee(s) will also receive a total of $7,500 to which an additional $2,500 may be added.
