The entire Wapikoni team is delighted to announce our annual launch. The event, which promises to be as festive as in previous years, will be held on Friday, June 14, at 7 p.m. at the Cinéma du Musée (1379-A Sherbrooke St. W., Montréal). Join us in celebrating the talent of our collective’s filmmakers.
EVENING’S PROGRAM
- Our executive director, Véronique Rankin, will host this special evening, celebrating the talent of our collective’s artists and the works created at our recent creative workshops.
- We have the privilege of welcoming Wendat singer-songwriter Eadsé as the evening’s opening act. This will be followed by a screening of 12 recent Wapikoni works, which were carefully selected by our team. Participants whose short films were selected will be on hand. It’s a great opportunity to meet and encourage the talented emerging artists who have invested much time and effort in creating their projects.
- Anishinape artist Makhena Rankin-Guérin will light up the evening with a performance that’s a feast for the eyes as well as the heart.
The annual launch is also an opportunity to present four awards to artists who participated in our workshops: the Fondation Famille Kenny Tang’s Impact Bursary, the Télé-Québec Fabrique culturelle Involvement Award, the Bell Media Emerging Talent Award and the Bell Media People’s Choice Award.
