Date: June 4, 2025

Clean air is essential to health, well-being, and cultural practices in Indigenous communities. From land-based activities to seasonal gatherings, the quality of the air we breathe shapes our ways of life. However, many Indigenous communities continue to face air quality challenges due to industry, wildfires, and limited monitoring.

This youth-led circle offers a space for Indigenous youth to:

  • Share lived experiences related to clean air and environmental justice
  • Connect through stories, breakout groups, and art-based activities
  • Learn from peers and Elders
  • Explore collective pathways forward

All youth will receive a $50 honoraria. Door prizes also available!

We kindly ask that you share this opportunity through your networks and with any Indigenous youth who may be interested. We’ve attached a poster that may be helpful in doing so, and we encourage you to share widely through your communication channels (i.e., community newsletters, Facebook, bulletin boards).

If you have any questions or need additional promotional materials, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Jemma Galt at 604-396-2036 or events6@mahihkan.ca.

Thank you for your ongoing support and for helping us uplift Indigenous youth voices in this important conversation.
