Siqinirmiut Ilusirsusiarvinga (Southern Inuit Holistic Care)
Indigenous program
The Southern Quebec Inuit Association (SQIA) aims to address the lack of front-line health and social services tailored to the specific needs of the Siqinirmiut community in Greater Montreal. Recognizing the profound health disparities and hesitancy to access mainstream services due to fears of discrimination, SQIA proposes a care support service. Through the hiring of Inuit support workers, the project aims to facilitate safe access to care.
We also offer medical care by building corridors to specialized services, such as dental services, eye clinics, hearing screenings, etc.
