If you need support urgently, it’s best not to wait. Several specialized services are available to offer listening, information and referrals. We have put together a non-exhaustive list of telephone resources available in Tiohtià:ke. In the first part, you will find the services dedicated to Indigenous peoples. In the second part, you will find telephone lines that cater to specific demographics and have precise mandates.

Kamatsiaqtut, Nunavut Help Line

Kamatsiaqtut is for people from Nunavut and for those who are currently outside of Nunavut. Listening and support services are available in English, French and Inuktitut. The help line is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Mental health helpline of the Cree board of health and social services of James Bay. Available to Cree people, including those in Montreal. Service is offered in English and French. Cree-speaking counsellors and traditional healers are also available upon request. Available 24/7.
