About the Organization
The Open Door Montréal is a community organization located in the Milton-Parc neighborhood that supports people experiencing homelessness. We provide essential services (shelter, meals, psychosocial support, referrals, etc.) in a safe, inclusive, and low-barrier environment. Our services include an SRA housing program (Residential Stability with Support) as well as a street outreach team composed of a service navigator and outreach and mediation workers.
Our approach is participant-centered and grounded in harm reduction, respect, cultural safety, and trauma-informed intervention. We prioritize welcoming members of Indigenous communities and work collaboratively with various partners to promote well-being and self-determination.
The SRA program supports Indigenous people in accessing and maintaining housing in the private rental market.
Job Description
Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Admissions and Transition Worker is responsible for managing admission requests as well as the administrative follow-up of participants, from entry into the program through to their exit.
The person in this role acts as a point of contact between referred individuals, service providers, and the internal team in order to ensure follow-up on referrals and continuity throughout the process. They are responsible for updating the database, conducting initial interviews to assess needs, and supporting integration into the program while ensuring that all required documentation is completed.
They support participants throughout their journey with administrative procedures (income assistance, identity documents) and ensure the necessary follow-ups with the different institutions involved.
Finally, they support participant transitions out of the program by ensuring file closures, follow-ups with landlords, and referrals to other resources or long-term housing options.
Full-time: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Primarily daytime schedule, with occasional evening or weekend availability depending on program needs.
Salary: $23.00 to $24.00 per hour depending on qualifications
